Operation Thread Redux

The latest on the Toronto 17 "terror" conspiracy:

"..a few weeks ago, the Crown removed [Abdul Qayyum Jamal] from the supposed cell's inner circle by dropping the bomb-plot allegations against him. And yesterday he walked free after 17 months in prison when a judge ordered him released on a $100,000 bond. "

Doesn't sound like much of a plot. And remember the original context. In June of 2006, the Harper government had only recently assumed power, and was due for a display of ritual grovelling to cement its reputation as being loyal coat-holders in George Bush's "War on Terror". Asking the RCMP for a parade of dark-skinned flesh in orange jumpsuits probably seemed like a terrific idea at the time.

Furthermore, the case against Mr. Jamal always looked particularly fishy. He was never, for example, charged with recruiting the alleged young Jihadis, even when the RCMP was calling him their master-mind.

Remember Operation Thread. This looks like part II.

You got it all, don't ya. Ignorance, hatred, prejudice, racism, xenophobia. Seek professional help for all your issues.

I'm sure you could recommend someone...or at least share your meds.

Funny, I thought the trolls would start screaming about another Islamofascist on the loose, poised to blow up Summerhill Station tomorrow.

If it did happen, then we can go to the PM and said you did not protect us enough, can we?

well they are all in Toronto so nobody in the ROC gives a shit.

If they murder a bunch there it will be interesting to see the Liberaloids and their buddy-buddy socialists bend over backwards to blame anyone but the islamofacists.

They better move quickly. George Bush won't be around much longer to be your pinata.

Then you'll have to look in the mirror.

errrr....BCL....

They were arrested with THREE TONS of ammonium nitrate....

What do you think they were planning...starting an African Violet business?

bigcitylib said...

The police, and their plant, arranged the purchase of the ammonium nitrate. Ever heard of entrapment?

No they weren't. According to the "official story", the ammonium nitrate was intercepted before they accepted delivery of it.

Fuck...if you wingnuts can't even retain the basic details of a story, why should anyone listen to you AT ALL?

BCL & Ti-Guy:

They ordered the three tons. The police intercepted the shipment prior to delivery, substituted most of it with innocuous substances, and effected a controlled delivery. Get the term "controlled delivery"? Google it if you want. Happens all of the time when the police intercept a large shipment of drugs...same thing happens. And its not entrapment, the courts have accepted the concept for decades.

And if you cannnot comprehend the concept of CD (deliver enough for legal reasons, but substitute the major portion in the event that surveillance breaks down and the shipment escapes seizure) ti-Guy, you're clearly not as bright and well-read as I thought you were.

Who is "they", Bruce? The police plant and the police! Who else among the "conspirators" knew? Nobody knows. Maybe none of them.

Add 2+2, Bruce. Last year this guy was Osama in Canada, the MASTERMIND. Now they're springing him and dropping the major charges?

Case smells like garbage from here.

Well BCL:

How could they NOT know...They worked themselves to near exhaustion to unload the Amm. nitrate into the storage facility they had rented..which was filmed and as I recall was also where many of them were arested.

What did they think they were unloading...bags of flour mis-labeled as Ammonium Nitrate? Get real.

Do I look like I need an explanation of what happened? You're the one who got it wrong.

I'm not thinking about conspiracies or entrapment here (since that's all speculation)...I only pay attention to the facts in evidence.

So should you.
